lords_prayer_king_james The Lords Prayer: King James English The following is The Lord’s Prayer from The King James version of the Holy Bible, the prayer which Jesus taught his disciples when they asked him how to pray, the prayer which is the Rosetta Stone for understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The prayer appears twice in the Holy Bible: in the Gospel of Matthew 6:9-13, and in the Gospel of Luke 11:1-4. In the version which appears in the Book of Luke is slightly different than Matthew’s version, which appears below. One difference is that the last line of the prayer is not included.

Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
In earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
Our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
